Saudi Defense hosts chiefs of staff and representatives of 43 countries to discuss the initiative to establish the "Multinational Defense Maritime Alliance"

The Saudi Ministry of Defense announced that it is hosting an international meeting to discuss the Kingdom’s initiative to establish a multinational maritime defense coalition. In a statement, the ministry said that chiefs of staff, representatives of friendly and sister countries, and the European Union delegation to the Kingdom met in Riyadh to discuss the Kingdom’s initiative to establish the multinational maritime defense coalition, as part of efforts to enhance maritime security, protect international sea lanes, and counter threats targeting maritime navigation and global trade. The meeting saw broad participation from chiefs of staff and their representatives from 43 countries, along with the European Union delegation to the Kingdom, out of 51 countries and organizations invited. Participation was either in person or via video conference, reflecting growing international interest in strengthening maritime defense cooperation.
