Ministry of Health Launches "Summer is Sweet Only with Your Safety" to Enhance Awareness of First Aid Culture and Emergency Response

Abdul Karim Al-Abdullah received the Minister of Health, Dr. Ahmed Al-Awadi, and the Ambassador of the Kingdom of Bahrain to the State of Kuwait, Salah Ali Al-Maliki, in the context of the deep-rooted fraternal relations between the two brotherly countries, and to discuss ways to enhance joint cooperation in the health sector.

The meeting addressed several topics of mutual interest, foremost among them strengthening cooperation in health fields, and supporting academic and training collaboration, including medical education programs benefiting students from the Faculty of Medicine, thereby contributing to the exchange of expertise and the development of medical competencies in the two brotherly countries.

Both sides emphasized the importance of continuing coordination and cooperation, reflecting the depth of fraternal relations between the State of Kuwait and the Kingdom of Bahrain, and contributing to supporting the progress of health sector development in both countries.

On another front, the Ministry of Health launched the awareness campaign “Summer is Only Sweet with Your Safety,” as part of its ongoing efforts to promote public health and raise community awareness about major health risks and injuries associated with the summer season.

The campaign aims to raise health awareness regarding major summer emergencies and injuries, through providing awareness messages and practical guidance that help community members prevent risks and enhance the culture of first aid and rapid response to emergency cases.

The campaign’s activities include several important health topics, most notably the prevention of drowning accidents, how to respond in emergency situations, cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) principles for adults and children, recognizing the symptoms of heatstroke and dehydration and the necessary first aid, prevention of sunburns and ways to manage them, first aid for jellyfish stings, stings from poisonous fish, and sea urchin injuries, along with safety advice during swimming and marine activities, and information on the contents of an appropriate first aid kit for beaches and summer outings.

The campaign is being implemented on the ground across various governorates of Kuwait through 34 primary healthcare centers distributed among the six governorates, ensuring that awareness messages reach the largest segment of the community, alongside providing direct awareness to visitors and patients at these centers.
