Peru's Ambassador: Relations with Kuwait are witnessing growing momentum... and we look forward to new investment partnerships

Carlos Jimenez, the Ambassador of the Republic of Peru to the State of Kuwait, affirmed that bilateral relations between Peru and Kuwait are witnessing continuous growth across various levels. He noted that the celebration of the 50th anniversary of diplomatic relations between the two countries last year reflected the strength of friendship and a shared vision based on dialogue and cooperation, expressing his aspiration to sustain this momentum through new initiatives that contribute to expanding the horizons of partnership between the two nations.

This statement was made during a speech delivered at the Embassy of the Republic of Peru in Kuwait to commemorate the 205th anniversary of its independence, held the day before yesterday. The event was attended by Assistant Undersecretary of Foreign Affairs for the Americas Affairs, Minister Plenipotentiary Abdulaziz Al-Qudfan, along with a gathering of ambassadors and heads of diplomatic missions accredited to the country, as well as a number of government officials, businessmen, and representatives of the private sector.

Jimenez stated that the celebration of the national holiday also serves as an opportunity to highlight Peru’s significant economic and investment potential. He clarified that his country has become one of the most dynamic and stable economies in the world, thanks to its responsible fiscal policies, open economy, and commitment to enhancing trade and investment.

He added that Peru boasts an attractive investment environment based on a modern legal framework, alongside a wide network of free trade agreements that provide preferential access to markets representing more than 80% of global gross domestic product (GDP). Furthermore, the country possesses diverse natural resources and a young, qualified workforce.

The ambassador called on Kuwaiti investors to take advantage of the investment opportunities offered by Peru in sectors such as infrastructure, food security, mining, renewable energy, logistics, tourism, education, healthcare, and digital technologies. He emphasized that economic diplomacy is not limited to developing commercial and investment exchanges, but also relies on building trust, enhancing communication between peoples, and exchanging expertise, thereby achieving shared prosperity.

Coinciding with the celebrations, the embassy organized the “Peru Investment and Trade Exhibition,” which showcased the most prominent Peruvian products and industries, including premium coffee, quinoa, value-added food products, and traditional textiles. The exhibition also featured samples of the country’s mineral wealth, primarily gold and strategic minerals, reflecting the economic and cultural diversity that characterizes Peru.

The exhibition also highlighted the competitive advantages enjoyed by the agriculture, mining, manufacturing, and food processing sectors. It presented Peru’s investment environment, characterized by modern legislation, a strategic location, and free trade agreements that have established it as one of the leading economic destinations in Latin America.
