Foreign Minister and Pakistani Prime Minister Discuss Efforts to Enhance Regional Security

Prime Minister of the Islamic Republic of Pakistan, the friendly nation, Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif, received Minister of Foreign Affairs Sheikh Jara Al-Jaber on the occasion of his official visit to the capital, Islamabad.

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs stated in a press release that the meeting reviewed the deep-rooted historical bilateral relations between the two friendly countries and their peoples, and discussed ways to elevate and enhance the prospects of joint cooperation in various fields to serve the common interests of both nations. It added that the latest regional developments and efforts aimed at enhancing security and stability in the region were also discussed.

According to the statement, Sheikh Jara Al-Jaber expressed Kuwait’s appreciation for the active diplomatic role played by the Islamic Republic of Pakistan in supporting the security and stability of the region. During the meeting, Sheikh Jara Al-Jaber conveyed greetings from the political leadership to the President of the friendly Islamic Republic of Pakistan, Asif Ali Zardari, and to the Prime Minister, along with best wishes for the continued progress and prosperity of the friendly Pakistani government and people.

The meeting was attended by the Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs of Pakistan, as well as the ministers of Defense, Commerce, National Food Security, Research, Communications, Maritime Affairs, and Petroleum in the Pakistani government, along with a number of senior Pakistani officials.

Minister of Foreign Affairs Sheikh Jara Al-Jaber also held talks with Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs of the friendly Islamic Republic of Pakistan, Muhammad Ishaq Dar, during his official visit to the Pakistani capital, Islamabad.

The meeting saw a review of the close historical relations linking the two friendly countries and their peoples. Both sides emphasized their commitment to strengthening Kuwaiti-Pakistani cooperation across various fields and intensifying coordination and consultation on different levels, contributing to elevating bilateral relations to more advanced levels and serving the common interests of the two friendly nations.

The latest regional developments and efforts aimed at de-escalating tensions in the region were also discussed during the meeting. In this context, Sheikh Jara Al-Jaber expressed Kuwait’s appreciation for the active diplomatic role played by the Islamic Republic of Pakistan in supporting the security and stability of the region.

Furthermore, Minister of Foreign Affairs Sheikh Jara Al-Jaber met with the Chief of Army Staff and Commander of the Defense Forces of the friendly Islamic Republic of Pakistan, Field Marshal Asim Munir. The meeting reviewed the deep-rooted historical relations between the two friendly countries and their peoples, and reaffirmed the importance of continuing to strengthen cooperation frameworks and intensifying coordination and consultation in various fields, particularly in the defense and security sectors, to elevate bilateral relations to broader horizons and serve the common interests of the two friendly nations.
