"Persons with Disabilities" Opens Registration for Foreign Scholarships for the Upcoming Academic Year from August 2 to 13

Nada Abu Nasr: The Public Authority for Persons with Disabilities has announced the opening of applications for external scholarships for the 2026/2027 academic year, valid from Sunday, August 2, through Thursday, August 13. This initiative is part of the Authority’s ongoing efforts to support students with disabilities and enable them to complete their university education at distinguished academic institutions outside the State of Kuwait.

The Authority emphasized that the scholarship program stems from its commitment to providing high-quality educational opportunities that contribute to preparing qualified national cadres and enhancing the participation of persons with disabilities in various fields of development, by allowing them to continue their studies according to clear and fair academic standards.

The Authority clarified that applications are open to Kuwaiti students who meet the announced conditions. Among the key requirements is holding a valid disability certification, being no older than 25 years of age, having obtained the secondary school certificate within the specified timeframe, and achieving the minimum required grade according to the type of disability. Additionally, applicants must meet English language proficiency requirements by scoring at least 5.5 on the IELTS or 47 on the TOEFL, taken from one of the centers accredited by the Ministry of Higher Education.

The Authority also noted that the program does not cover certain medical specialties, namely human medicine, dentistry, and pharmacy. It urged interested students to review all conditions, regulations, and available majors, and to complete the application procedures within the specified period.

The Authority concluded its statement by reaffirming that investing in the education of persons with disabilities is a fundamental pillar in achieving sustainable development, reflecting the State’s commitment to providing equal opportunities that enable them to build their academic and professional futures and contribute effectively to serving the nation.
