The Capital Markets Authority issued its fifteenth annual report for the fiscal year (2025/2026), alongside its second sustainability report for the same fiscal period. The publication of the Authority’s annual report following the conclusion of its fiscal year constitutes a legal obligation under Article 25 of its founding law No. 7 of 2010. The report highlights the Authority’s key implemented tasks and achievements across its various operational domains: legislative, regulatory, supervisory, awareness-raising, and media activities, as well as those related to its internal working environment and joint cooperation efforts at the local, regional, and international levels. It also includes the Authority’s financial data for the fiscal year in question and its strategic directions for the coming years, aiming to realize its vision of leading the development of attractive capital markets that support the national economy.
It is worth noting that the Authority’s latest annual report comprises nine main chapters. It begins with an introduction to the Authority’s establishment, vision, mission, objectives, and corporate values. This is followed by a presentation of the performance of the Authority’s Board of Commissioners, the work of the General Secretariat, and the activities of the affiliated councils and committees. The third chapter is dedicated to the strategic domain, succeeded by the sustainability chapter, which outlines the Authority’s efforts to consolidate its institutional sustainability, the sustainability of the securities sector, and environmental and community sustainability.
The fifth chapter, which is the most prominent, details the Authority’s achievements in regulating and supervising securities activities. It covers the legal domain, followed by the regulatory and supervisory domains (both desk-based and field-based), as well as the monitoring of market operations, disclosure, and transparency. The chapter concludes with sections on awareness, media, communication, and external cooperation.
Subsequent chapters review the Authority’s key achievements regarding its internal working environment, as well as its visions, aspirations, and strategic directions for the coming years under its fourth strategy, which extends until the end of March 2031. The report also includes the Authority’s financial data for the fiscal year under review, and concludes with a comprehensive overview of trading indicators on the Kuwait Securities Exchange for 2025.
In a separate development, the Authority issued its second sustainability report, which details the measures taken during the last fiscal year in its efforts to reinforce the application of sustainability standards in Kuwait’s capital markets. These efforts support the direction of sustainable economic development and help create an attractive environment for local and foreign investments. The report outlines the Authority’s approach in the areas of governance, social responsibility, and environmental stewardship.
