United States reaffirms its steadfast commitment to the strategic partnership with Gulf Cooperation Council countries

Ambassadors of the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) countries and the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan to the United States participated in a meeting held at the U.S. Department of State, chaired by Allison Hooker, Under Secretary of State for Political Affairs, and attended by Nicholas Stewart, Deputy Special Envoy for Peace, along with several senior U.S. government officials, to discuss recent developments in regional affairs and their security and political implications.

During the meeting, the U.S. Under Secretary of State reaffirmed the United States’ steadfast commitment to the strategic partnership with the GCC countries, emphasizing Washington’s rejection of any aggression targeting the security and stability of the Gulf states. She underscored the continuity of coordination and cooperation with regional partners in confronting current challenges.

U.S. officials also reviewed the latest developments in diplomatic communications with the Iranian side, affirming the continuation of political efforts alongside initiatives aimed at reducing regional tensions, enhancing security and stability in the region, and developing defense cooperation mechanisms with the GCC countries.

During the meeting, the ambassadors stressed the importance of strengthening joint efforts to safeguard the security and stability of the Gulf states and preserve regional security. They emphasized the need to continue close coordination with the United States and to enhance defense, security, and economic cooperation, in order to advance shared interests, maintain the security of international navigation, and support efforts to achieve regional security and stability.
