"Bahrain Shield": Gulf Military Cooperation and a Solid Pillar for Standing United Against Treacherous Aggressions

Bahraini Chief of Staff, Lieutenant General Diab Al-Nuaimi, affirmed that the participation of the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) member states’ armed forces in the joint exercise “Bahrain Shield” embodies the robust features of a unified Gulf military capability to confront various challenges.
This statement came during Lt. Gen. Al-Nuaimi’s inspection of the joint exercise, which is being conducted by the Bahrain Defense Force in collaboration with the armed forces of the sister GCC member states.
He highlighted the Bahrain Defense Force’s commitment to conducting joint exercises to enhance combat performance levels, thereby contributing to gaining more field experience, improving operational planning capabilities, and fostering an environment conducive to exchanging expertise and harmonizing concepts among participating forces, alongside strengthening frameworks for joint military cooperation and coordination.
He noted that the “Bahrain Shield” exercise represents a practical consolidation of the established approach to reinforcing the pillars of joint military construction among the GCC armed forces, under the keen interest and gracious patronage of the GCC heads of state, and as a reaffirmation of the fraternal bonds that unite them in pursuit of goodness, strength, and resilience.
He pointed out that the significance of this exercise lies in its role as a solid strategic foundation for military solidarity and a firm cornerstone for standing united against treacherous aggression and for decisive deterrence against any party targeting the security of the Arab Gulf states or threatening the safety of their citizens and national interests, in blatant violation of all international covenants, treaties, and laws.
He added that the treacherous aggressions witnessed in the region necessitate the development of joint defensive military cooperation based on close ties and deep historical fraternal bonds, expressing confidence that this exercise represents “a solid building block in strengthening our ranks and building a joint Gulf effort characterized by high readiness and rapid response to take all collective measures and fulfill shared defensive responsibilities to preserve the security and stability of the GCC member states and repel any threats to their sovereignty and stability.”
