1,260 incidents, 25,978 violations, 220 wanted persons and violators, and 19 “abnormal” cases
Statistics released by the Operations Affairs Sector, represented by the General Directorate of Traffic and the General Directorate of Emergency Police, revealed the results of security and traffic campaigns carried out between July 19 and 25, 2026. These campaigns yielded numerous apprehensions and security and traffic achievements, aimed at enforcing the authority of the law and enhancing road safety.
According to the statistics published by the Sector on its official platforms, 25,978 traffic violations were issued, and 1,260 traffic accidents were handled. A total of 220 individuals were apprehended, comprising 116 wanted persons and 104 violators of the Residency Law. Additionally, 19 individuals were apprehended for possessing narcotics or suspected of being in an abnormal condition, and they were referred to the General Directorate of Narcotics Control to take legal action against them.
Regarding the operations of the General Directorate of Emergency Police, security forces apprehended 105 wanted persons, 13 wanted vehicles, and 52 violators of the Residency Law. Eleven individuals were caught without official identification, along with eight people found in an abnormal condition and six suspects suspected of drug use. All were referred to the General Directorate of Narcotics Control to complete legal procedures. Furthermore, Emergency Police patrols provided 1,015 humanitarian assistance services to citizens and residents.
In terms of traffic enforcement, Emergency Police patrols issued 999 traffic violations, referred five vehicles to the impound lot, and handled 157 reports of traffic accidents.
As for the General Directorate of Traffic, between July 20 and 26, 2026, it recorded the issuance of 24,979 traffic violations. Eighteen individuals were detained at the Traffic Police station for committing serious violations, and eight minors were referred to the Juvenile Prosecution for driving without licenses. Additionally, 223 vehicles and 11 motorcycles were referred to the impound lot.
Traffic police handled 933 collision incidents that resulted only in material damage, while 170 other accidents resulted in injuries.
On the security front, traffic police apprehended two individuals suspected of possessing narcotics and five people found in an abnormal condition, referring them to the General Directorate of Narcotics Control. They also apprehended 52 violators of the Residency Law and one individual without official identification. Furthermore, 42 wanted persons and 11 wanted vehicles were seized and referred to the competent authorities to take the necessary legal actions.
The Operations Affairs Sector emphasized the continuation of security and traffic campaigns across various governorates, calling on drivers to comply with traffic rules and regulations and cooperate with security forces, thereby contributing to enhancing the safety of road users and preserving lives and property.
