Deputy Minister of “Affairs”: Approval of the 2026-2027 Scholarship Plan with a Total of 38 Positions

Kuwait officials announced that Dr. Khalid Al-Ajmi, Deputy Minister of Social Affairs, confirmed the approval of the Ministry’s Study Abroad Plan for the academic year 2026–2027. The plan includes internal and external study abroad programs for postgraduate studies, as well as 14 specializations for academic diplomas and bachelor’s degrees, totaling 38 positions.

In a press statement, Dr. Al-Ajmi said the plan was issued under the directives of Dr. Amthal Al-Huwail, Minister of Social Affairs, Family, and Childhood, following a study of the actual needs of the Ministry’s sectors, in alignment with modern trends in digital transformation, cybersecurity, artificial intelligence, financial and administrative sciences, and health-related specializations.

He added that the plan aims to prepare national cadres with the scientific and professional qualifications needed to enhance service quality, noting that study abroad represents one of the tools for building functional capacity, strengthening the sustainability of government performance, and supplying the Ministry with qualified expertise.

He clarified that the academic diploma plan includes four specializations: accounting, information systems, computer operations, and information technology systems and techniques, to meet the functional needs of several departments.

He noted that the bachelor’s degree plan covers ten specializations: information systems, cybersecurity engineering, artificial intelligence, computer programming, accounting, information technology, computing, information systems management, computer science, and statistics. He emphasized that these specializations represent specialized fields that align with the requirements of digital transformation and administrative development, and contribute to preparing national cadres capable of keeping pace with modern changes in the government work environment.

Dr. Al-Ajmi explained that applications are open to all Ministry employees who meet the stipulated conditions and regulations according to the Civil Service Bureau’s bylaws, with the final deadline for receiving applications set for mid-February 2027.

He reaffirmed the Ministry’s commitment to providing study abroad opportunities based on criteria of fairness, equal opportunity, and merit, aiming to balance employees’ aspirations with the Ministry’s actual needs and contribute to building a more efficient administrative apparatus.
