Al Ahli launches 3 new Visa cards

The National Bank of Kuwait has launched three new Visa cards—ATM, credit, and prepaid—for small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) in the State of Kuwait, reflecting its ongoing commitment to innovating banking solutions that meet today’s customer needs.

The new cards include the Visa Signature credit card, offering cashback of up to 2% with a monthly cap of 1,000 Kuwaiti dinars, and the Visa Prepaid Platinum card, which provides a fixed 1% cashback with no monthly cap. The prepaid cards can be issued digitally in unlimited numbers and assigned to specific vendors, while providing real-time, accurate data to reduce administrative costs.

These cards stand out by offering the highest cashback value for businesses in Kuwait, along with complimentary access to Visa’s advanced Spend Clarity platform. This gives companies essential tools to digitally manage and control expenses.

Commenting on the launch, Jheer Maaref, General Manager of Retail Banking Services at the National Bank of Kuwait, said: “The launch of these cards represents a significant leap forward in our strategy to digitize financial operations for businesses. They enable spending control while providing liquidity that supports enterprise growth.”

Maaref emphasized that the introduction of Visa business cards demonstrates the National Bank of Kuwait’s commitment to delivering tailored solutions for the business sector. She added that, through this partnership, the bank will lead the market into a new era of digital payments, enhancing customer confidence in executing transactions through its diverse solutions.

For his part, Shashank Singh, Vice President at Visa, stated: “We are committed to supporting SMEs through secure, seamless, and innovative digital payment solutions that accelerate their digital transformation. Our partnership with the National Bank of Kuwait supports Kuwait’s national agenda to boost digital commerce by providing solutions that enhance efficiency and support the long-term growth of local businesses.”

This launch comes as the National Bank of Kuwait’s products maintain a leading market position, offering more competitive fees—50 dinars for issuing the credit card, and the prepaid card free of charge for life—alongside easy management of card transactions.
