"Provisions" for citizens, their families, and their employees only

Tareq Araabi: The Minister of Commerce and Industry, Osama Al-Boudi, issued Ministerial Decision No. 154 of 2026 regarding the determination of categories eligible to receive subsidized goods. Article One of the decision, a copy of which was obtained by Al-Anbaa, stipulates the amendment of Item 1 of Article Five of Ministerial Decision No. 216 of 2014, to read as follows: Categories eligible to receive subsidized goods: A) Citizens and their families, as well as their domestic workers. Article Two of the decision stipulates that “all provisions determining or regulating the distribution or utilization of subsidized goods for categories not specified in this decision are hereby repealed.” Article Three stipulates that “the distribution of subsidized goods allocated to the subsidy card shall be suspended for anyone proven to have resold or transferred the subsidized goods to others, and the offender shall be referred to the competent authorities to take the necessary legal actions against them.” The final Article Four emphasized that all officials, within their respective jurisdictions, are to implement this decision, which takes effect from its issuance date of July 27, 2026, repeals any conflicting provisions, and shall be published in the Official Gazette.
