Qatari Prime Minister discusses latest regional developments with foreign ministers of Saudi Arabia, Jordan, and Canada

Qatar’s Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs, Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdulrahman Al Thani, held talks with Saudi Foreign Minister Prince Faisal bin Farhan, Jordan’s Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates Affairs, Ayman Safadi, and Canadian Foreign Minister Anita Anand, to discuss the latest regional developments.

The Qatari Ministry of Foreign Affairs stated in separate statements that these discussions took place during phone calls received from Saudi Foreign Minister Prince Faisal bin Farhan, Jordan’s Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates Affairs, Dr. Ayman Safadi, and Canadian Foreign Minister Anita Anand. The calls reviewed bilateral cooperation relations and ways to support and strengthen them, and discussed the latest regional developments, particularly diplomatic efforts and joint coordination to de-escalate tensions and enhance security and stability in the region.

During the calls, Qatar’s Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs emphasized the necessity for all parties to commit to dialogue and diplomacy, and to implement the agreements reached under the US-Iran memorandum of understanding, including ensuring freedom of navigation in the Strait of Hormuz to safeguard regional security, preserve achieved gains, and bolster regional stability. He reaffirmed Qatar’s full support for all efforts aimed at defusing tensions and reaching a comprehensive agreement that ensures lasting peace in the region.
