Kuwait participates in the conference of liaison officers of the regional offices for the boycott of the Israeli entity

The 98th session of the conference of liaison officers of the regional offices for the boycott of the occupied Israeli entity began yesterday, with the participation of Kuwait, representatives of Arab countries, and the Organization of Islamic Cooperation, to discuss mechanisms for implementing boycott resolutions and to review lists of companies subject to the Arab boycott.

In his opening address at the meeting, Assistant Secretary-General of the Arab League and Head of the Palestine and Occupied Arab Lands Sector, Ambassador Faed Mustafa, stated that “the session convenes in an exceptional international context, witnessing a humanitarian catastrophe in the Gaza Strip, while the West Bank and East Jerusalem face an escalation in settlement activities, land confiscation, and settler attacks, which pose a direct challenge to the international legal system.”

Mustafa noted that “the Arab boycott system has constituted, since its establishment, one of the most prominent tools of joint Arab action and a legitimate, peaceful means of pressure to end the occupation and enable the Palestinian people to attain their national rights,” emphasizing that it is based on the principles of international law and does not target a people or a religion, but rather opposes the occupation and its settlement policies.

He added that “the political and legal developments witnessed by the international arena have strengthened the conviction that the occupation does not create legitimate rights and that settlement constitutes a blatant violation of international law,” clarifying that the Arab boycott has become part of an increasing international trend calling for aligning economic activities with international law rules and refraining from benefiting from situations arising in contravention thereof.
