Council of Public Universities: Continuing to develop the quality of academic programs and strengthening strategic partnerships

Alaa Khalifa: Acting Secretary-General of the Council of Public Universities, Dr. Jassem Al-Ali, affirmed the Council’s continued efforts to develop the public higher education system, enhance the quality of academic programs, and strengthen strategic partnerships, thereby contributing to the preparation of qualified national cadres capable of competing and supporting the development process in the State of Kuwait.

In a press statement following a Council meeting chaired by Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research Dr. Nader Al-Jalal and attended by Council members, Al-Ali said the Council reviewed the general framework and methodology for the second phase covering the third and fourth years.

He added that the Council also reviewed the methodology for the third phase covering the fifth and sixth years of the Doctor of Medicine program at the College of Medicine and Health Sciences, Abdullah Al-Salem University, as part of the university’s efforts to complete the development of the academic program in accordance with the latest academic and educational standards.

Al-Ali clarified that the Council also reviewed a memorandum of understanding between Abdullah Al-Salem University and the British Council, aimed at enhancing academic cooperation and exchanging expertise. It also reviewed a memorandum of understanding between the University of Kuwait and the Kuwait National Petroleum Company (KNPC), which aims to strengthen partnerships between academic institutions and national sectors and support areas of training, development, and scientific research.

Al-Ali noted that the Council approved the minutes of its previous meeting, No. (2026/1), and reviewed the follow-up report on the implementation of its decisions, reflecting its commitment to monitoring operations and ensuring the execution of its decisions to contribute to the development of the public higher education system.
