General Headquarters: Volunteer applications for military service open from today until August 18
The General Headquarters of the Armed Forces, represented by the Administration and Manpower Authority, announced the opening of voluntary applications for honorable military service for holders of university degrees, diplomas, high school certificates, and their equivalents, as well as for students in grade eleven and below.
In a press statement issued yesterday, the General Headquarters noted that interested candidates should register via the Ministry of Defense’s dedicated volunteer recruitment portal at https://vc.kuwaitarmy.gov.kw, starting today, Tuesday, July 28, until August 18 next.
First: General Conditions
1. The volunteer must be a Kuwaiti national.
2. The volunteer must have reached the age of 18 and must not exceed 26 years of age as of the date of the announcement.
3. The volunteer must be medically fit for military service.
4. The volunteer’s height must not be less than 157 cm.
5. The volunteer must have a good reputation and conduct.
6. The volunteer must pass the personal interview.
7. The volunteer must not have been previously convicted of a felony or a crime involving moral turpitude or breach of trust, unless their reputation has been restored.
8. The volunteer must not have been previously dismissed from service in any government entity by a final judicial or disciplinary ruling.
9. The volunteer must submit their resignation from their current employer if finally accepted.
Second: Required Documents
1. Original Kuwaiti nationality certificate.
2. Original Civil ID.
3. Original birth certificate.
4. The most recent academic certificate obtained, certified by the Ministry of Education, the Ministry of Higher Education, or the Private Education Authority.
5. Employment authorization from the National Service Authority for those who have reached 18 years of age, obtained via the “Sahel” app.
6. A certificate from the Public Institution for Social Security and Employment for the concerned party, obtained via the “Sahel” app.
7. A certificate from the Public Authority for Manpower for the concerned party, obtained via the “Sahel” app.
8. A copy of the father’s nationality certificate and a copy of the mother’s nationality certificate.
9. If one of the parents is deceased, a copy of the death certificate must be provided.
10. Five personal photographs sized 6x4 cm, wearing the ghutrah and iqal, not in profile, not instant photos, and without a beard.
11. Married applicants must bring the original marriage contract, a copy of it, and a copy of the spouse’s nationality certificate.
12. All documents must be uploaded to the website, ensuring they are valid and current, and originals must be presented during the interview.
Third: Course Details
1. The Non-Commissioned Officer (NCO) course lasts four months, and the Enlisted Personnel course lasts three months.
2. Volunteers holding a PhD degree are granted the rank of Assistant Officer, in addition to two allowances.
3. Volunteers holding a Master’s degree are granted the rank of Assistant Officer.
4. Volunteers holding university degrees are granted the rank of Senior Sergeant.
5. Volunteers holding a diploma after secondary school are granted the rank of Sergeant, in addition to two allowances.
6. Volunteers holding a high school certificate are granted the rank of Sergeant.
7. Volunteers holding certificates for grade eleven, grade ten, and grade nine are granted the rank of Assistant Corporal.
8. Volunteers holding an eighth-grade certificate or below are granted the rank of Private.
