National Assembly to Vote on Its Internal Regulations Next Sunday

The drafting committee of the People’s Assembly has completed the initial draft of the internal regulations, after receiving legal approval, in preparation for presenting it to the Assembly and voting on it during the second session of the current legislative term, scheduled for next Sunday.

The Assembly, through its official pages on social media platforms, clarified that the committee was formed by a decision of the Speaker of the People’s Assembly and comprises 17 members. It noted that the committee held a series of meetings over four days last week, dedicated to discussing and initially drafting the provisions of the regulations.

The People’s Assembly held its first session on July 12, attended by Speaker Ahmed Al-Sharaa, Chairman of the Supreme Committee for the Assembly Elections Mohammed Taha Al-Ahmad, all 206 members of the Assembly, and several ministers. During the session, members took their oath of office and elected Abdulhamid Al-Awak as Speaker, Mustafa Musa as First Deputy Speaker, Maduna Bishara as Second Deputy Speaker, and Muayad Habib as Secretary-General.
