Trump calls on the US Federal Reserve to cut interest rates

US President Donald Trump called on the Federal Reserve to cut interest rates, stating that the United States should have the lowest interest rate in the world. Trump told reporters aboard the presidential aircraft, Air Force One, that “interest rates should be cut... there are other countries paying lower interest rates.” The US president added, “We should have the lowest interest rate in the world.” Trump continued, “Kevin is great, but he has a board, and the board members are very political,” referring to Federal Reserve Chair Jerome Powell, adding that he knows what Powell wants to do.
