Frustration of an attempt to smuggle 850,000 drug pills from Lebanon in the countryside of Damascus

The Syrian Drug Control Administration announced the thwarting of an attempt to smuggle a shipment of narcotics from Lebanon, in a security operation carried out in the Al-Nabk area of the Rif Dimashq Governorate. The administration stated via its Telegram channel that the operation followed precise monitoring and tracking, resulting in the arrest of an individual identified as “K.M.” and the seizure of 850,000 drug pills. It clarified that the entire shipment was confiscated, while investigations continue with the detainee to identify his accomplices and other involved parties, paving the way for his referral to the competent judiciary to take the necessary legal measures against him. Earlier, on the 23rd of this month, the Ministry of Defense announced that units of the Border Guard forces of the Syrian Arab Army had thwarted several attempts to smuggle narcotics from Lebanese territory into Syria in the Rif Homs and Rif Dimashq areas, seizing more than 40 kilograms of hashish, in addition to over 700,000 Captagon pills.
