Blackstone plans to open an office in Kuwait through the Foreign Direct Investment Promotion Authority

Blackstone, the world’s largest alternative asset manager, announced plans to open an office in Kuwait through the Direct Investment Promotion Authority, a move that strengthens its presence in the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) countries.
Sheikh Dr. Meshal Al-Jaber, Managing Director of the Direct Investment Promotion Authority, said that the presence of leading global companies in Kuwait reflects growing confidence in the promising long-term prospects of the national economy. He added that this presence would enhance Kuwait’s position as a destination for investment and sustainable growth.
For his part, Jonathan Gray, President and Chief Operating Officer of Blackstone, stated that Kuwait possesses the resources, vision, and leadership that qualify it to become a major commercial and financial hub in the region. In a statement, Gray added that private capital investments can play a significant role in supporting the state’s long-term efforts to diversify its economy, expressing his anticipation of cementing a long-standing partnership that spans nearly four decades.
According to the statement, Blackstone expects to open its Kuwait office in the third quarter of 2026 and plans to continue expanding its regional presence by announcing additional offices in GCC countries next year.
