Gulf Cooperation Council condemns Saudi Arabia’s targeting by drones launched by Iran-backed militias in Iraq: Dangerous escalation and blatant violation of international law

Secretary-General of the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) Jassem Al-Budaiwi expressed his condemnation and outrage over the attacks targeting the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia by drones launched by Iran-backed militias in Iraq.

In a statement, Al-Budaiwi said that these attacks constitute a dangerous escalation, a blatant violation of international law, and a direct threat to the security and stability of the region. He reaffirmed the GCC’s full solidarity with the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and its support for all measures taken by the Kingdom to safeguard its security, sovereignty, and territorial integrity.
