Qatari Prime Minister Discusses Latest Regional Developments with UAE Deputy Prime Minister

Qatar’s Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs, Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdulrahman Al Thani, held talks on Sunday with his UAE counterpart, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs Sheikh Abdullah bin Zayed Al Nahyan, to discuss the latest regional developments.

The Qatari Ministry of Foreign Affairs said in a statement that the discussion took place during a phone call between the two ministers. The statement added that the call reviewed the cooperative relations between the two countries and ways to support and strengthen them, as well as discussing the latest regional developments, particularly diplomatic efforts and joint coordination to de-escalate tensions and enhance security and stability in the region.

It noted that the Qatari Prime Minister and Foreign Minister emphasized during the call the necessity for all parties to commit to dialogue and diplomacy, and to implement the agreements reached under the US-Iran memorandum of understanding, including ensuring freedom of navigation in the Strait of Hormuz to safeguard regional security, preserve achieved gains, and bolster regional stability.

He reiterated Qatar’s full support for all efforts aimed at defusing tensions and reaching a comprehensive agreement that ensures lasting peace in the region.
