Kuwait to fully judicialize by October 2030

Justice Minister and Advisor Nasser Al-Sumait announced yesterday the completion of the second phase of the plan to replace and empower Kuwaiti personnel in the judiciary, in implementation of His Highness the Amir Sheikh Meshal Al-Ahmad’s directives on the necessity of Kuwaitizing the judiciary and strengthening reliance on national expertise.

Advisor Al-Sumait told KUNA that the second phase of the plan saw the issuance of ministerial decisions concluding the secondment of 82 members of the judiciary, raising the Kuwaitization rate to 87% of the total number of judiciary members as of September 30, 2026, as part of the phased implementation of the replacement plan according to the approved timeline.

He emphasized that only two phases remain to fully complete the judiciary Kuwaitization plan, achieving a 100% Kuwaitization rate by October 1, 2030, in line with the directives of the wise political leadership, reinforcing reliance on national expertise, and continuing the development of the judicial sector.

He expressed his sincere gratitude and appreciation to his brothers among the members of the judiciary in the Arab Republic of Egypt for their sincere efforts over the years of service, which contributed to the advancement of justice in Kuwait, wishing them continued success and prosperity.
