Electricity Authority: Commencement of fiber optic cable extension works between main substations

The Ministry of Electricity, Water and Renewable Energy announced the commencement of work to lay fiber-optic cables between existing main substations, as part of a developmental project aligned with Kuwait’s national development plan, aimed at enhancing infrastructure and boosting the efficiency of the communications and control systems. The ministry stated that excavation and backfilling activities would take place from yesterday until August 1 in the following areas: Fahad Al-Ahmed (Q2 and Q3), Abu Halifa (Q2), Ar-Raqqa (Q1, Q2, Q3, Q4, Q6 and Q7), Al-Uqayla (Q2 and Q3), Ahmadi (Q1, Q6, Q7, Q8, Q9, Q11, Q12, Q14 and Q15), Hadiyah (Q4 and Q5), Adh-Dhahr (Q1, Q2 and Q3), Al-Fanitees (Q2 and Q3), Hawalli (Q1, Q2, Q3, Q4, Q7 and Q9), Al-Rawda (Q4), Al-Jaberiya (Q2, Q3, Q5, Q6, Q7, Q8, Q10, Q11 and Q12), Bayan (Q1, Q4 and Q5), Mushref (Q4 and Q5), Mubarak Al-Kabeer (Q5, Q6 and Q7), Salwa (Q2, Q4, Q5 and Q6), and Al-Rumaythiya (Q1 and Q11). The ministry emphasized that these works would not affect the continuity of electricity services.
