Alaa Khalifa: Kuwait University, represented by the College of Science and the College of Petroleum Engineering in the Sabah Al-Salem University City, hosted approximately 100 high school students as part of the activities of the “Generation of Science” summer program for high school students for the year 2026, organized by the Kuwait Foundation for the Advancement of Sciences.
The program aims to introduce high school students to scientific and research fields, providing them with the opportunity to meet a select group of researchers and academics, thereby broadening their scientific horizons and helping them explore various specializations and plan their academic and professional futures.
The visit included tours of several scientific departments in both the College of Science and the College of Petroleum Engineering. Students visited the Inorganic and Analytical Chemistry Group within the Chemistry Department at the College of Science, under the supervision of Dr. Intisar Saad Al-Hutlani. They also learned about the Molecular Biology program in the Biological Sciences Department, under the supervision of Dr. Nasma Khaled Bastaki.
At the College of Petroleum Engineering, students participated in scientific workshops in the Electrical Engineering Department, presented by Dr. Mohammed Wael Bedes, and the Mechanical Engineering Department, presented by Dr. Abdulaziz Yousif Shamsah. These sessions enabled them to gain close exposure to various scientific and engineering fields and applications.
