The Ministry of Interior denied rumors circulating on some social media platforms regarding the apprehension of a terrorist cell within the country, affirming that such information is not based on any official source. The Ministry emphasized that it handles all matters related to national security with full transparency, and that any cases of this nature or otherwise would be announced through official channels in accordance with established procedures. The Ministry called on everyone to exercise accuracy and obtain information from official sources, refraining from falling prey to rumors or disseminating unverified news, reiterating that the official reference for news and information is the Ministry of Interior’s official accounts and other state official entities. The Ministry further stressed that publishing or resharing false news or rumors that could harm the public interest subjects the perpetrator to legal accountability, in accordance with applicable laws and procedures.
