Al-Filakawi: Dissatisfied with the level of 'Mushref's Sons'

Yarmouk Club board member and football affairs head Othman Al-Filakawi expressed his dissatisfaction with the level of performance shown by his team against Al-Sahel in the 14th round of the First Division League, which ended in a 1-0 defeat for “Al-Musharif’s Sons.” He congratulated Al-Sahel’s technical and administrative staff, particularly head coach Ali Abdul-Razzaq, on securing the victory.

Al-Filakawi said: “With the resumption of the Zain First Division League and under these hot and unsuitable playing conditions, our team was treated unfairly when Al-Sahel’s goal was awarded. There was a clear and obvious infringement, as the striker pushed our defender and leaned on him, in addition to doubts about an offside position.

He expressed surprise at the disallowance of striker Othman Al-Dosari’s goal due to offside, adding that if it had been allowed, it would have changed the course of the match. He called on the Football Association to implement VAR technology in upcoming matches for teams competing for promotion and to appoint foreign referees to manage important fixtures.

Al-Filakawi noted that the sending-off of goalkeeper Abdulrahman Al-Majdali somewhat affected the team’s performance, but he still expected the players to show better. However, he excused them, as it was their first official match after the break, following changes in the technical staff, professionals, and a large number of local players.

He said: “We have great confidence in the players. There are still many rounds left, and we remain among the leading teams. We urge the players to forget this match and focus on next Wednesday’s game against Sporty Club, delivering the expected performance and securing the three points.”
