Al-Ghamdi resigns as president of Al-Ahli

Khaled Al-Ghamdi, president of Saudi club Al-Ahli, officially announced his departure from the position via his personal account on the X platform. Al-Ghamdi wrote: “My dear Al-Ahli fans, after a three-year journey as president of the board of directors of this great institution, which I am proud and honored to have been part of in my professional career.” He added: “I hereby announce my resignation from the presidency of Al-Ahli Club, a tenure marked by numerous challenges and achievements, most notably winning two consecutive AFC Champions League Elite titles and the Saudi Super Cup.” He continued: “My sincere thanks go to the board members, the Public Investment Fund, the club’s staff and players, the technical and administrative teams, the club’s fan association, and everyone who supported us or disagreed with us out of concern for the institution.” He said: “As for you, Al-Ahli fans, you have always been our support and partner in every success. Thank you for your trust and support. Please keep me in your prayers. Everything we have achieved is thanks to God first, and then to your great support. Today, I am leaving the position, but Al-Ahli will remain towering with its history and its fans. I am fully confident that it will continue to achieve success and accomplish more in all competitions in the future. Thank you, Al-Ahli, and its loyal fans.” Al-Ghamdi will depart after three years filled with achievements in Al-Ahli’s history, during which the team won the AFC Champions League Elite title twice and the Saudi Super Cup for the first time in nine years.
