The board of directors of Al-Salmiya Club, chaired by Sheikh Turki Al-Yousef, renewed the contracts of first-team players Fawaz Aaid and Mohammed Al-Huwaidi for five years, and also renewed the contract of Mehdi Dashti for two years.
The renewal of contracts with Aaid and Al-Huwaidi carries technical and administrative implications, the most important of which is preserving the core elements of “Al-Samawi” (The Sky Blue) and giving the technical staff the opportunity to work on a long-term project that enables the club to compete for top positions in upcoming seasons. Furthermore, renewing trust in the duo confirms that the club remains committed to its star players and outstanding homegrown talents.
In a related development, “Al-Samawi” continues its training sessions under the leadership of Bahraini coach Ali Ashour, as part of the team’s first preparatory phase before departing for the Turkish city of Izmit on August 2 to hold a two-week training camp. During this camp, the team will play several friendly matches ahead of the start of the Premier League on August 25.
Meanwhile, the board of directors of Al-Fahaheel Club, chaired by Hamad Al-Dabous, signed goalkeeper Ahmed Dashti to strengthen the first-team squad for the upcoming season. The signing of Dashti follows the transfer of goalkeeper Ahmed Adawi to Al-Arabi Club.
Al-Dabous met the day before yesterday with the team’s new technical staff, led by Slovakian coach Martin Sefila, to review the progress of preparations and readiness for the upcoming phase, which will see the team hold a training camp in Cairo before the start of the Premier League competitions.
