The Fire Department Launches 'Safe Summer' at Kheran Mall to Prevent Fires

The General Fireforce launched its summer awareness campaign on the day before yesterday at The Avenues Mall, under the slogan “A Safe Summer with the Fire Department,” aiming to raise awareness about the risks and causes of fires and drowning incidents, which increase during the summer season, and to enhance community safety.

Spokesman for the Force, Brigadier General Mohammed Al-Gharib, said the campaign will organize a variety of programs throughout the summer, including exhibitions, lectures, sea tours, and visits to shopping malls, government and private entities and institutions, to provide guidance on safety requirements, fire and accident prevention measures, and proper procedures for handling emergencies.

Al-Gharib clarified that the campaign comes in line with the Fire Department’s commitment to raising the level of preventive awareness among community members, thereby contributing to the protection of lives and property and reducing the occurrence of accidents.

He noted that the campaign will also focus on raising awareness about the importance of complying with safety procedures at recreational, marine, and residential sites, highlighting the main causes of fires and accidents and ways to avoid them, as well as disseminating preventive guidelines to enhance community readiness. He called on community members to engage with the campaign’s activities and benefit from its awareness programs, and to adhere to safety guidelines and instructions, emphasizing their crucial role in mitigating risks and safeguarding lives and property during the summer.

Brigadier General Al-Gharib stated that the total number of reports handled by Fire Department teams across various governorates, from January 1 to March 31, 2026, amounted to 3,633 reports, including fires, rescue operations, other incidents, and general services. Among these, 750 were fire incidents in residential and non-residential locations and in various modes of transportation across the country’s governorates.
