The Night of "The Return of the Absentee": Fadhl Shakir in Qatar

The Qatari capital, Doha, is preparing to host two artistic events that offer distinct experiences for audiences, as the Qatar National Convention Centre brings together authentic musical heritage and family-friendly shows as part of an entertainment season targeting diverse demographics. Among the events is “Leilet Awdat al-Gha’ib” (The Night of the Absentee’s Return) by Fadl Shaker, featuring a concert under the baton of Maestro Hani Farhat, scheduled for the evening of August 6 at Stage 3 of the Qatar National Convention Centre, following a period of absence from public appearances there. During the evening, Shaker is expected to perform a selection of his most famous songs, which have been closely associated with his audience throughout his career, in a night anticipated to be filled with nostalgia, emotion, and musical delight. Meanwhile, the Centre is also hosting the family- and children-oriented musical theatrical production “Boom Boom,” which offers an atmosphere rich in music, choreography, and entertaining, purposeful messages. The production stars Joud Al-Ba’noon, Al-Jouri Al-Ba’noon, and Dhahya Al-Ayoub, in a work that combines singing, dancing, and performance within an interactive format aimed at bringing joy to both children and adults.
