Cooperative Societies Union Calls on Associations to Participate in the 'Save' Campaign to Rationalize Electricity and Water Consumption
Sultan Al-Abdani The Federation of Consumer Cooperative Societies has issued a circular to all cooperative societies mandating their participation in the national energy and water conservation campaign, “Wafar” (Save), in response to a call from the Ministry of Electricity, Water and Renewable Energy. This comes amid a noticeable rise in temperatures and increased demand during the summer season.
The Federation clarified that the campaign aims to rationalize electricity and water consumption, particularly during peak hours from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m., thereby contributing to the stability of the electrical grid and the continuity of services, while maintaining efficient resource utilization.
The Federation urged the boards of directors of the cooperative societies and their branches to take necessary measures to rationalize consumption and cooperate with the national campaign by implementing the recommended guidelines. It emphasized that this step stems from a sense of national responsibility and partnership with government entities, aiming to enhance the culture of conservation and contribute to sustaining electricity and water services throughout the summer.
