Palestinian Presidency Condemns Occupation and Settler Crimes in the West Bank

The Palestinian Presidency on Friday condemned the crimes committed by Israeli occupation forces and terrorist settlers against the Palestinian people in the West Bank, the latest of which was the massacre carried out in the village of Tal in Nablus Governorate. In a statement, the Presidency held the extremist occupation government fully responsible for the daily crimes committed by settler gangs against unarmed members of the Palestinian people, which have resulted in the martyrdom of 87 Palestinian citizens since the beginning of the year, including 21 killed by settler gunfire.

The statement added that “the occupation government provides financial and political support to settler gangs to escalate their terrorism against citizens in the West Bank, including Jerusalem, and to implement plans for forced displacement, while continuing its war against our people in the Gaza Strip despite the announcement of a ceasefire.”

According to the statement, the Presidency warned against the continuation of these crimes and daily violations against the Palestinian people, emphasizing that the occupation government is pushing the West Bank toward explosion in accordance with its colonial plans.

The Presidency condemned the decisions issued by Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and his war minister following the crime committed by occupation forces in Tal, which called for accelerating the establishment and fortification of colonial outposts, reinforcing troops in the West Bank, intensifying raids, and imposing a siege on Nablus Governorate and its surroundings.

The statement called on the US administration to intervene and compel the Israeli occupation to halt its escalation and the settlers’ crimes, stressing that the continuation of the current situation will drag the entire region into dire and unpredictable consequences. It also called on the international community to shoulder its moral and legal responsibilities to stop the Israeli occupation’s escalation, provide protection for the Palestinian people, and hold the occupation accountable for these crimes.

Today, four Palestinians from the same family were martyred, two of them brothers, and four others were injured, three of them in critical condition, by occupation gunfire in Tal. Meanwhile, settlers attacked several Palestinian towns, setting fire to homes, vehicles, and agricultural fields. The Israeli army also raided a hospital in Nablus city and arrested two patients.
