"Traffic" Calls for Vehicle Inspections and Compliance with Safety Requirements During Summer

The General Directorate of Traffic has called on vehicle drivers to comply with a set of technical requirements and conduct periodic inspections of their vehicles during the summer season, as part of its efforts to reduce breakdowns and accidents that may result from high temperatures.

The Directorate emphasized the importance of regularly checking the battery, ensuring that the cabin is free of any flammable materials, and reviewing electrical wires and insulation to confirm their integrity.

In an awareness brochure, the General Directorate of Traffic stressed the necessity of verifying that there are no oil or fuel leaks, inspecting fuel and oil hoses, and immediately replacing any damaged ones, as well as ensuring that a functional fire extinguisher is present inside the vehicle.

The General Directorate of Traffic noted that compliance with these requirements is not merely a preventive measure, but a legal and humanitarian responsibility that contributes to protecting lives and property and enhancing road safety during the summer season.
