President of the Arab Parliament Condemns Houthi Militia's Terrorist Attack on Saudi Ship in the Red Sea

The President of the Arab Parliament, Mohammed Al-Yamah, condemned the attack launched by the Houthi militia on a Saudi ship in the Red Sea, calling on the international community to counter violations that threaten the security and safety of maritime navigation and global energy supplies. In a statement on Thursday, Al-Yamah also condemned the remarks issued by the Houthi militia against the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, which included threats undermining the Kingdom’s security and stability, including the threat to close the Bab al-Mandab Strait. He viewed these threats as an extension of a rejected escalation policy and a clear violation of international law, reaffirming the Arab Parliament’s unequivocal rejection of any threat or aggression targeting the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia or undermining its security and stability. He stressed that the security of the Kingdom is an integral part of Arab national security, and that any targeting of the Kingdom or its interests constitutes a threat to regional and global security and stability. Al-Yamah renewed the Arab Parliament’s full solidarity with Saudi Arabia and its support for the measures taken to protect its security, sovereignty, and interests. He called on the international community, the United Nations, and the Security Council to fulfill their responsibilities and adopt a firm stance against these violations, and to implement measures and guarantees ensuring the protection of international maritime security and enhancing regional stability.
