French Ambassador Calls from Sour for a Permanent Ceasefire in Lebanon and Israeli Withdrawal from the South

French Ambassador to Lebanon Hervé Magro, during his visit to the city of Sidon and the “Aamal International Foundation for Primary Health Care” center, as well as Sidon’s historic landmarks damaged by the war, called for “an immediate and permanent ceasefire in Lebanon and the withdrawal of Israel from southern Lebanon,” affirming his country’s support and solidarity with Lebanon at this delicate stage, and the extension of the authority of the Lebanese state and the Lebanese army over all occupied territories. He reiterated his country’s support for international positions aimed at extending the authority of the Lebanese state over its entire territory and at disarming militias. Magro said, “We have come to the south and to Sidon to inspect the damage inflicted on the city and its historic landmarks, which were recently damaged by the war,” emphasizing France’s commitment to supporting the right of all residents to access basic rights, foremost among them healthcare.
