No ban on vehicle exits due to unpaid traffic violations; citizens are not required to settle them before traveling

The Ministry of Interior has denied the validity of claims circulating on some social media platforms regarding a ban on the exit of all vehicles from border crossings in the event of unpaid traffic violations. The Ministry emphasized that the current procedure applies only to vehicles subject to judicial or precautionary seizure, and to vehicles whose insurance documents have expired, in accordance with established legal procedures, and does not include vehicles with outstanding traffic violations. The Ministry further confirmed that citizens’ departure through border crossings does not require the settlement of traffic violations. However, residents are required to settle any outstanding traffic violations before leaving the country, in accordance with prevailing procedures and regulations. The Ministry urged everyone to exercise accuracy and refrain from disseminating or publishing unverified information, and to obtain information only from official sources.
