Latifa: Launches a 'semi-private' offering

Bashar Jasim Al-Kandari Tunisian artist Latifa posted a series of teaser images on X and Instagram featuring her with composers, arrangers, and poets she collaborated with, in preparation for releasing her new album at the end of July. In a call with Al-Anbaa, she said: “I will release 13 songs, collaborating with several poets, including Ayman Bahgat Qamar, Mohamed Al-Rifai, Mustafa Hadouta, and Mohamed Radwan. Among the composers are Walid Saad and Mohamed Yahya Ibrahim (Jordanian). I am also honored to work with a group of arrangers, including Tarek Madkour, Ahmed Adel, and many other prominent names in the field of music arrangement.” She added: “I worked on the album for about a year, from selecting lyrics and melodies, until settling on 13 songs. I wanted to vary the melodies and lyrics, and to address all generations. I also aimed for innovation in arrangement, as well as in the forms and structures of the songs. I will shoot music videos for more than one song, and I will let my audience vote for their favorite tracks, which will then be among the candidates for video production.” Latifa concluded: “Two days ago, I released a single titled ‘Shibhi Bil-Milli’ (My Love Is Like a Million). Its lyrics say: ‘And who is this, my love, who is like a million? The most beautiful thing that has happened to me, the most beautiful thing that happens to me.’ The song features lyrics by poet Mohamed Radwan, melody by Walid Saad, and arrangement by Ahmed Adel.”
