Tehran and its proxies expand the scope of attacks; CENTCOM targets Iranian missile and drone depots and naval capabilities
From the Kuwaiti-Iraqi border to the Red Sea in the west and the strait in the south, Iran and its proxies have expanded the scope of their attacks, disregarding calls for de-escalation. The Bahraini Ministry of Interior announced the sounding of air raid sirens across the country, urging citizens and residents via a post on its X account to remain calm, proceed to the nearest safe location, and follow news through official channels.
Concurrently, a senior military source at the Jordanian Armed Forces General Command announced yesterday that four Iranian missiles and six Iranian drones targeting the kingdom’s territory were intercepted. The Jordanian News Agency (Petra) quoted the military source as stating that air defenses intercepted and shot down three missiles, while the fourth missile fell in a remote, uninhabited area. He added that six drones were also intercepted and destroyed, resulting in no human casualties or material damage.
The source clarified that teams from the Royal Jordanian Engineers Corps moved to the missile impact and debris sites, handled the ordnance, and secured the areas in accordance with established technical and security procedures. The source emphasized that the armed forces continue to monitor the kingdom’s airspace and maintain the highest levels of operational readiness to respond to any threat targeting the kingdom’s security and the safety of its citizens, in line with established rules of engagement.
For its part, U.S. Central Command (CENTCOM) announced the completion of a new wave of strikes against Iran for the twelfth consecutive night. CENTCOM stated in a post on its official X account early yesterday: “U.S. forces targeted Iranian military sites, including naval capabilities, facilities for storing missiles and drones, coastal surveillance sites, and air defense assets,” noting that these strikes further undermine Tehran’s ability to attack civilian sailors and commercial vessels.
It continued: “Over the course of July, U.S. forces targeted dozens of Iranian land-based military sites, coinciding with the resumption of a naval blockade on Iran. CENTCOM rerouted nine commercial vessels and disabled one to prevent ships from entering or leaving Iranian ports.” The statement noted that more than 50,000 U.S. military personnel are deployed across the Middle East, continuing their work with utmost vigilance, focus, and high combat readiness.
