Kuwait condemns Houthi militia attack on Saudi ship: blatant violation and direct threat to maritime security and freedom of navigation

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs expressed the State of Kuwait’s strong condemnation and denunciation of the attack launched by the Houthi militia on a Saudi vessel while it was sailing in the Red Sea, which constitutes a blatant violation of international law and a direct threat to the security and freedom of maritime navigation, as well as to international trade and energy supplies. The Ministry affirmed Kuwait’s full solidarity with the brotherly Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, its steadfast support alongside it, and its backing of all measures taken by Riyadh to safeguard its sovereignty, protect its security and interests, emphasizing Kuwait’s rejection of any practices that could undermine the security and stability of the region. The Ministry further stressed the urgent need for an immediate halt to these attacks and for adherence to the rules of international law that guarantee freedom of navigation and safe passage through international waterways.
