Al-Abduli's Delays Continue
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs expressed the State of Kuwait’s condemnation and strongest rejection of the continued malicious aggression launched by Iran and its proxies against the country, which targeted the Abdali border crossing yesterday through a series of hostile drone attacks. This constitutes a blatant violation of Kuwait’s sovereignty, a direct threat to its security and stability, and a serious breach of the rules of international law, the United Nations Charter, and Security Council Resolution 2817.
The Ministry emphasized that persisting in these overt and repeated attacks represents a dangerous escalation and a direct threat to regional security and stability, reflecting a systematic, unjustifiable, and unacceptable hostile approach. It reaffirmed Kuwait’s full and inherent right to self-defense, in accordance with Article 51 of the UN Charter, and its commitment to taking all necessary measures to safeguard its sovereignty, protect its territory and assets, and preserve its security and stability.
In this context, the official spokesperson for the Ministry of Defense, Colonel Saud Al-Atwan, announced that the Abdali border crossing was attacked by hostile drones in the afternoon and evening of yesterday, resulting in material damage with no reported human casualties. Al-Atwan stated in a Defense Ministry statement that specialized teams immediately responded to the incident and took necessary measures to secure the site in coordination with relevant authorities.
The General Headquarters of the Kuwaiti Armed Forces stated that Kuwait’s air defenses intercepted hostile drone attacks following the malicious Iranian aggression. Meanwhile, the official spokesperson for the General Fire Force, Major General Mohammed Al-Gharib, announced that fire teams from the central “Subayya” and “Abdali” stations managed to control a fire that broke out at the Abdali border crossing in northern Kuwait after it was targeted by hostile drones. Major General Al-Gharib clarified that fire crews responded immediately upon arrival, successfully containing and extinguishing the blaze, and confirmed that there were no human casualties, with losses limited to property damage.
On the diplomatic front, Foreign Minister Sheikh Jara Al-Jaber held a telephone conversation with the Foreign Minister of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, His Highness Prince Faisal bin Farhan. The Foreign Ministry stated that the call discussed the latest developments in the region, particularly the current escalation and its repercussions, as well as efforts to enhance diplomatic solutions to help preserve regional security and stability.
Reactions condemning and rejecting the continued malicious Iranian attacks, and expressing solidarity with Kuwait and all GCC states and Jordan, have continued to pour in.
