Sisi on the Anniversary of the July 23 Revolution: Egypt Has Advanced Since 2014 with Unyielding Determination to Pursue Comprehensive Development

President Abdel Fattah el-Sisi stated that we are today commemorating the 74th anniversary of the glorious July Revolution, following days in which we observed the anniversary of the great June 30 Revolution. He emphasized that recalling these national occasions is not merely a celebration, but an opportunity to renew our loyalty and appreciation for heroes, evaluate experiences, and draw lessons and insights to avoid past mistakes, build upon achievements, and advance our beloved Egypt toward a brighter future befitting its standing among nations.

In his speech marking the anniversary of the July 23, 1952 Revolution, President el-Sisi added that the orientations of the glorious July Revolution served as a beacon that illuminated the paths of peoples in the Third World, igniting the flame of liberation across our Arab nation and our African continent. Thanks to it, Egypt regained its sovereignty and consolidated the independence of its national decision-making, an independence that is secure, inviolable, and unshakable.

The President clarified that we continue, to this day, to draw lessons and insights from the experience of the glorious July Revolution, particularly those related to achieving social justice and building a strong state. He added, “We do not stop at the limits of conscious reflection alone; rather, we take action and engage constructively with the successes of that experience, while also learning from its failures, so that we may continue, with understanding and awareness, to build the new republic—a modern, advanced, and strong Egypt capable of safeguarding the rights of its people and preserving its national resources.”

President el-Sisi further noted that since 2014, Egypt has embarked on a journey of comprehensive development and sought-after progress befitting its status and its great people, with unwavering resolve and unshakable faith. We faced terrorism and defeated it, without halting our construction efforts. We consolidated freedom of belief, established places of worship, built modern infrastructure, eliminated informal settlements, constructed new cities, reclaimed desert lands, and established power plants for both conventional and renewable energy. Furthermore, the state has intensified its efforts to increase petroleum and gas discoveries, thereby enhancing economic security and supporting Egypt’s position as a regional energy hub.

In the same vein, we have continued our diligent work to develop the education and health systems. The state has opened numerous world-class museums to present our ancient civilization to the world in its most splendid form. Tourism has also received special attention to enhance Egypt’s status as a global tourist destination. We are striving diligently to localize industry and achieve the progress and prosperity we aspire to.

We launched the national initiative “Hayah Karima” (Decent Life) so that millions of Egyptians may live in a civilized environment befitting their human dignity, embodying the vision of the modern state that combines strength and justice, development and freedom, and paves its way toward the future with steadfastness and capability.

Egypt has continued on its path despite the harsh circumstances, severe pressures, and unprecedented challenges surrounding it, and despite a region teeming with wars and successive crises that have unfortunately swept through many of its countries. Despite the enormous economic losses incurred by the Egyptian state due to factors beyond its control, Egypt has persisted and remained steadfast in its course, firm in its path, and unwavering in its highest goal of building the future and preserving the nation’s resources.

I reiterate my emphasis that the state’s success in safeguarding Egypt’s security and stability, and in overcoming the crises and challenges we have faced and continue to face, would not have been possible without the resolve of the Egyptian people, their diligent work, their perseverance, their patience, their deep awareness of the surrounding circumstances, and their steadfast attachment to the state’s firm stance against every threat targeting Egypt.

In this regard, I extend the obligatory salute to the noble Egyptian people, their valiant army, their civil police, and all state institutions for their unity in facing challenges and their commitment to the identity of the Egyptian state. I also specifically salute our righteous martyrs who sacrificed their lives defending the homeland, becoming beacons of light illuminating our path to honor and dignity.

Let me reiterate that Egypt, by the grace of God Almighty and then by the grace of its great people, cannot be harmed or have its resources diminished by anyone. It is protected by God’s care, fortified by the awareness of its people, and secured by the strength of its soldiers, remaining always and forever an impregnable fortress and a solid pillar of security and stability.

Ladies and gentlemen,

Amid the tragic and harsh circumstances engulfing the region, I wish to convey two messages today:

The first is a message of peace from a strong Egypt that loves peace. Through it, I call on the nations of the world to make every effort to stop wars and conflicts, particularly in the Middle East region, and to confront destructive tendencies aimed at perpetuating hatred, bloodshed, and destruction. I stress here the necessity of not halting serious and earnest efforts to achieve a just peace that ensures stability and prosperity for all peoples. The world is spacious enough for everyone, and history has proven that violence begets only more violence, with its known result being ruin and destruction.

I also reiterate Egypt’s firm position rejecting any aggression against sister Arab states, and I call on all concerned parties to cease the use of force, exercise restraint, stop escalation, and return to the negotiating table, upholding the value of peace and safeguarding the rights of peoples.

The second message is one of hope and optimism, addressed to the great Egyptian people. I affirm that the future, by God’s will and grace, will be better. We are working diligently to build a promising future with a scientific vision, confronting corruption in all its forms, and always striving for goodness and peace. And God Almighty says: “He does not waste the reward of those who do good.”
