Elon Musk Enters the 'Odyssey' Race.. New AI Film 'Groks' Before End of 2026

American billionaire Elon Musk announced that XAI is working on producing a feature film inspired by Homer’s epic “The Odyssey,” using the Grok Imagine AI model, with a planned release before the end of 2026.

According to Russia Today and TASS, Musk confirmed on the X platform that the project aims to deliver a “historically accurate and faithful adaptation of the original text,” noting the release of an initial teaser for the film.

The project is part of XAI’s expansion in leveraging artificial intelligence technologies to produce creative works, relying on specialized tools for generating images and video clips. The film is expected to be among the most prominent cinematic projects heavily dependent on AI technologies.

The announcement coincides with renewed global interest in “The Odyssey,” amid the release of a new cinematic version by director Christopher Nolan, which has sparked widespread debate over certain artistic aspects and production choices. The epic, attributed to Homer, is one of the most significant classical literary works, recounting Odysseus’s journey home after the Trojan War and the challenges and adventures he faced along the way.
