Emir of Qatar and Syrian President discuss key regional and international developments: intensifying efforts to de-escalate and prioritizing political solutions and dialogue

The Emir of Qatar, Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad, held talks with Syrian President Ahmad al-Sharaa on the latest regional and international developments. The Qatari Diwan Al-Amiri stated in a statement on Wednesday that this came during a phone call received by the Emir of Qatar from the Syrian President, during which the relations between the two brotherly countries and ways to support and develop them were reviewed, along with discussions of the most prominent regional and international developments, foremost among them the developments in the Middle East region. In this regard, the Syrian President praised Qatar’s role and efforts in calming the situation and enhancing regional and international security. Both sides also emphasized the importance of intensifying regional and international efforts to de-escalate tensions, prioritize political solutions and dialogue, contribute to consolidating stability in the region, spare its peoples further tensions, and push for resolving differences through diplomatic means, leading to a comprehensive agreement that achieves sustainable peace there.
