Protest rally outside the UN office in Quneitra demanding the release of prisoners held in Israeli jails

Relatives of detainees held in Israeli occupation prisons held a protest demonstration yesterday in front of the headquarters of the United Nations Disengagement Observer Force (UNDOF) in the village of Naba al-Fawwar, in the northern countryside of Quneitra, demanding the release of their sons and the disclosure of their conditions and circumstances of detention. The Syrian Arab News Agency reported that the Quneitra Directorate of Media stated that participants during the demonstration held up signs and photos of the detainees, emphasizing the necessity for international organizations and human rights bodies to fulfill their responsibilities regarding the detainees’ cases and to work to ensure their humanitarian and legal rights in accordance with international covenants. This demonstration comes amid continuous demands from the families of the abducted individuals for the disclosure of their sons’ conditions and their release, with assurances that peaceful protests will continue until these demands are met. Relatives of several Syrians abducted by the Israeli occupation had previously held a protest demonstration on the 19th of last month in front of the UNDOF headquarters in the Naba al-Fawwar area in the Quneitra countryside, demanding the disclosure of their sons’ fate and efforts toward their release.
