Secretary-General of the GCC Council: We call on the UN Security Council and the international community to put an end to Iranian aggression and attacks

The Secretary-General of the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC), Jassem Al-Budaiwi, affirmed that “any attack on maritime corridors has repercussions on global energy security.” Speaking at a session of the UN Security Council, he stated that “Iran continues its attacks on GCC member states and other countries in violation of the principles of international law.” Al-Budaiwi called on the Security Council and the international community to put an end to Iranian aggression and attacks, stressing that “Iranian behavior undermines international efforts to achieve stability.” The Secretary-General “strongly condemned the Houthi claims against Saudi Arabia,” urging a firm international stance against the terrorist militia’s threats to navigation, noting that such threats “undermine maritime traffic in the Red Sea.”
