"Tranquility in the Hearts of the Nation's People"

What is Sakina, and what does it mean? The concept of the word “Sakina” (tranquility) is multifaceted, and how beautiful is the Book of Allah when we benefit from its magnificent content in every aspect of life. The word Sakina derives from the root meaning “to settle” or “to find rest,” indicating that the senses are calmed and the heart is at peace. Indeed, Sakina is a state of reassurance and security. Marriage is a source of tranquility for both women and men, each finding safety and comfort in the other. Allah the Almighty says: “And among His signs is that He created for you from yourselves mates that you may find tranquility in them; and He placed between you affection and mercy. Indeed in that are signs for a people who give thought.”

Life is full of irritations, but we must whisper within ourselves calmness, contentment, and happiness, accepting all difficult circumstances with patience and satisfaction. Indeed, Sakina constantly resides in the hearts of believers who are at peace with their destinies, which life has decreed for them by the command of Allah.

In this life, as human beings, we are exposed to many trials and the whispers of Satan and his helpers. Time does not stop, and life goes on; we must be content, reassured, and happy with acceptance and satisfaction. We must enjoy tranquility and happiness, for the Book of Allah informs us that Sakina is an inner strength in the heart of a believing Muslim who is content with whatever Allah has decreed for him throughout his life.

Sit quietly and recall the moments of psychological pain that afflicted my beloved homeland, scattering thoughts in the hearts of citizens due to a treacherous neighbor who failed to learn from the month of Ramadan, causing Sakina to flee from the hearts of some citizens and from those who had settled with us from all over the world, enjoying security, safety, and abundant sustenance that they had not found in their own homelands. This is all by the grace of Allah upon them.

Indeed, I prostrate to Allah fifty times in gratitude for every five prostrations performed in prayer, for Sakina has accompanied me, knowing that my country is protected by the protection of the Most Merciful, due to the goodness and generosity it offers, which encompasses the entire world. Allah does not waste any deed that He has commanded us to perform.

Here, Sakina settles in my heart and in the hearts of my countrymen, thanks to the wise government of Kuwait, which has provided us with everything we need. I return to remind my dear readers of Al-Anbaa newspaper that our lives and destinies were written for us before we were created. However, supplication, hope, and many beautiful concepts mentioned in the Holy Quran can change destinies for the better and the best.

I reiterate that within Sakina lies the delight of faith and sweetness in the heart. Praise be to Allah, we are a Muslim people; whoever Allah guides, Allah expands his chest. This expansion refers to the breadth and relief that result in enjoying calmness, tranquility, reassurance, and happiness. This is realized among the people of my homeland, who are people of faith, Islam, piety, and avoidance of sins. The sustenance of Sakina is always found in obedience, which represents the pinnacle of happiness in our beautiful lives in this even more beautiful homeland with all its merits.

My dear countrymen, remember always the words of Allah the Almighty in His Noble Book: “Allah had certainly given you victory at many battlefields.” Indeed, Allah granted us victory on August 2, 1990, and victory will always come when Allah sends down Sakina into the hearts of my beloved countrymen.

When Allah sends down Sakina upon the hearts of believers, the hearts become reassured, for Allah is with us in every sense. May Allah protect my homeland, its wise leadership, and all who love this country. Increase your supplications for my beloved country in all the circumstances it is going through, and for its people, who are lovers of peace, in this land of security and safety. My homeland, Kuwait, may Allah protect you from every harm.
