Fight in 'Ranq' Garden Leaves Young Man Eye Injured
A dispute between two Kuwaiti youths in the Al-Nuzha area escalated into a mutual assault, leaving both parties injured. One of them is currently hospitalized at Al-Amiri Hospital to undergo eye surgery.
The details of the incident trace back to a report received by the operations room about a fight in Al-Nuzha. One of the youths arrived at the Al-Faiha police station and reported that he had been assaulted. Approximately 15 minutes later, the other party arrived at the station and filed a similar complaint, before security personnel realized that both were involved in the same altercation.
Preliminary investigations revealed that the dispute began in the Al-Nuzha parking area, when one youth blocked the other’s path as he was exiting in his vehicle. The verbal altercation escalated into mutual physical violence. One of the youths was struck in the face with a “ranq” (a traditional stick), causing severe eye injury that necessitated his transfer to Al-Amiri Hospital for surgery. The other party submitted a medical report confirming injuries sustained during the fight.
The deputy public prosecutor ordered the registration of a case, and the General Directorate of Criminal Investigations was tasked with conducting inquiries and completing the investigation into the incident.
