399 male and female centenarians in Kuwait

Latest data released by the Public Authority for Civil Information show that the number of centenarians in Kuwait—individuals aged 100 years and older—has reached 399, indicating the presence of a distinctive age cohort within Kuwaiti society. This reflects the country’s progress over the past decades in health services, medical care, and living standards, which have contributed to more residents reaching this advanced age.

The data reveal that women constitute the majority of centenarians, with 291 women compared to 108 men, meaning that the number of women in this category exceeds that of men by approximately 169%. This aligns with global demographic trends showing higher life expectancy among women.

According to the data, 40.6% of all centenarians in Kuwait are Kuwaiti citizens, totaling 162 individuals. Among these citizens, there are 41 male centenarians, representing 25.3% of the total citizen centenarians, while 121 are female centenarians, accounting for the remaining 74.7%.

Expatriates make up 59.4% of all centenarians in Kuwait, totaling 237 individuals, reflecting the diversity of the country’s demographic composition. Among expatriate centenarians, there are 67 men, representing 28.3% of the total expatriate centenarians, and 170 women, accounting for 71.7%.

These indicators highlight certain demographic characteristics of Kuwaiti society and underscore the impact of continuous advancements in the healthcare system and services provided to residents, alongside a focus on quality of life and health care. These factors contribute to enhancing public health and increasing the likelihood of enjoying long, active lives across all segments of society.
