Al-Watani contributes $5 million to the Kuwait Emergency Response Fund

Kuwait National Bank (KNB) announced a financial contribution of $5 million to the “Kuwait Emergency Response Fund,” managed by the Kuwait Fund for Arab Economic Development, in support of national efforts to enhance the country’s readiness to respond to emergency situations and conditions resulting from the reprehensible Iranian aggression, and to mitigate their impact on infrastructure and vital facilities. This initiative embodies KNB’s deep sense of national and social responsibility, and its continuous commitment to supporting all initiatives that contribute to protecting the country’s assets and strengthening its capacity to confront challenges and exceptional circumstances with efficiency and effectiveness, thereby consolidating the foundations of stability and sustainable development.

This contribution underscores the national role played by Kuwait National Bank and its steadfast commitment to supporting efforts aimed at enhancing the country’s readiness and capacity to handle emergencies and challenging conditions, thereby safeguarding national assets, improving the efficiency of vital facilities, and ensuring the continuity of their services with efficiency and effectiveness. It also reflects the importance of unifying national efforts and reinforces the principle of partnership and integration between the public and private sectors, enhancing the nation’s ability to address emerging issues and urgent needs, and supporting efforts to maintain the efficiency of infrastructure and vital facilities and sustain their service and developmental roles.

This support bolsters efforts to rehabilitate vital facilities damaged by the reprehensible Iranian aggression, improve their operational efficiency, and ensure the sustainability of their services, contributing to strengthening the country’s readiness and enhancing its capacity to efficiently handle various emerging issues and exceptional circumstances.

Previously, the Board of Directors of the Kuwait Fund for Arab Economic Development issued a decision to allocate $100 million as an initial contribution to the “Kuwait Emergency Response Fund,” affirming the importance of mobilizing national resources and integrating institutional roles, and enabling the state to respond efficiently and swiftly to emergency conditions and exceptional challenges.

It is worth noting that the establishment of the “Kuwait Emergency Response Fund” was mandated by a Cabinet decision as a special accounting window managed by the Kuwait Fund for Arab Economic Development, with the objective of financing national efforts to enhance the country’s readiness to respond to emergency situations and conditions resulting from the reprehensible Iranian aggression, and to mitigate their impact on infrastructure and vital facilities.

Kuwait National Bank takes pride in its distinguished track record of leading social and national responsibility initiatives, and its continued support for strategic projects and initiatives that serve the nation and society, driven by its firm belief that supporting the country and its institutions under all circumstances represents an inherent responsibility and a sustainable partnership that contributes to enhancing national security and stability, and consolidating the path of progress and prosperity.

KD 1.3 Million Contribution by KNB to Develop Kuwait International Airport Facilities and Enhance Operational Efficiency

This contribution follows KNB’s ongoing role in supporting national efforts, coming after its recent provision of another contribution worth KD 1.3 million to develop facilities at Kuwait International Airport and enhance its operational efficiency.

This initiative reflects the bank’s firm commitment to supporting priority national projects and contributing to the development of strategic infrastructure, thereby enhancing their capacity to perform their vital roles efficiently and sustainably. It also embodies the bank’s belief that the role of national institutions extends beyond contributing to economic activity alone, encompassing support for the state during phases that require concerted efforts and collaborative action in the service of the national interest.

The bank emphasized that Kuwait International Airport is one of the country’s most critical strategic facilities, serving as Kuwait’s primary gateway to the world and a showcase of its status, image, and organizational and operational capabilities. In this context, the bank’s contribution aims to support efforts to develop the airport’s infrastructure, enhance the efficiency of its services, and strengthen its operational capacity, in line with best practices and to meet the requirements of the current and future phases.

These initiatives reflect the National Bank of Kuwait’s leading position in national and social responsibility, demonstrated through distinctive contributions and initiatives that support development plans and benefit society, thereby reinforcing its role as a key partner in supporting the state’s efforts and backing its institutions under all circumstances.
